    Returning home from Tahoe early and in need of coffee. Don't let this be a coffee drive through stop you ... great friendly service and excellent coffee. My husband likes strong robust coffee. When he asked the barista if the coffee was strong, she asked in flavor or caffeine (smart!). Got a dark roast drip that was perfect. I had the vanilla latte which hit the spot. also ordered the ham and cheese croissant and breakfast bagel which were both tasty.

    Grass Valley to get coffee right off the freeway is a zoo. Wait a few more exits and in Newcastle, stop at the Daily Grind instead. Right off the freeway, fast and convenient and most importantly, great coffee and service!

    I had a great Americano here and really appreciated that this place existed for quality coffee in this rural setting after hiking.

    There's a barista here named Theresa and she is absolutely amazing!! She remembers my order every time without me having to tell her, so when I pull up she's already starting on it! I absolutely love this place, the customer service is great!

    Here I come with a review for The Daily Grind in Newcastle.

    Had a very busy work schedule today meeting with customers all over Sacramento and my last stop was in Newcastle around 5pm.

    Since we had a pretty hot day in Sacramento I wanted to cool down a little and stopped by this small coffee drive thru shop.

    It is located right off the freeway in Newcastle (9430 Indian Hill Rd. & 80)

    As I was pulling in the drive-thru their special menu popped right up.

    After looking it through I decided to go with the "Blended Monkey Mocha" mocha with banana and caramel flavors.

    As I ordered the coffee the young lady at the window was very prompt and kind and since I was still debating what to get she gave me a few more seconds to decide.

    So I ordered the medium Monkey Mocha.

    Now here's  my take on the "MM"
    This is packed with flavors and the banana, caramel, chocolate and coffee all jump at you as you take each and every sip.
    All the flavors are overpowering each other.
    I never had a blended coffee this tasty.

    Here's my final reviews.

    -taste 5 stars
    -price 4-5 stars

    I'll be back here soon for some more yummy coffee.

    Coffee is a 4-
    Shaved ice was a big fail- worst we've ever had...

    Nice easy on and off the higheay
